The goal of a Backgammon match is to move your checkers around the Backgammon board and bear them from the board faster than your competitor who works just as hard to do the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a match of Backgammon requires both strategy and luck. How far you can shift your checkers is up to the numbers from tossing the dice, and the way you shift your checkers are determined by your overall playing strategies. Enthusiasts use different techniques in the differing stages of a game depending on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Plan
The goal of the Running Game plan is to entice all your chips into your inner board and bear them off as quick as you can. This technique focuses on the speed of advancing your checkers with no time spent to hit or stop your competitor’s checkers. The ideal time to use this technique is when you think you might be able to move your own pieces quicker than your opposing player does: when 1) you have less chips on the game board; 2) all your checkers have past your competitor’s checkers; or 3) the opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking strategy.
The Blocking Game Strategy
The primary aim of the blocking technique, by its name, is to block your opponent’s chips, temporarily, not fretting about moving your checkers quickly. After you’ve created the blockade for the opponent’s movement with a couple of chips, you can shift your other chips rapidly from the board. You should also have an apparent plan when to back off and shift the chips that you employed for blocking. The game gets interesting when the opponent utilizes the same blocking tactic.
