As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of skill and luck. The aim is to shift your chips carefully around the game board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent shifts their checkers toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With competing player chips heading in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular strategies at particular times. Here are the last two Backgammon strategies to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to move her chips, the Priming Game strategy is to completely barricade any movement of the opponent by constructing a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get bumped, or end up in a battered position if she at all attempts to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point eleven in your board. After you have successfully assembled the prime to block the activity of your opponent, the competitor doesn’t even get a chance to roll the dice, and you move your checkers and toss the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The objectives of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game strategy are similar – to harm your opponent’s positions in hope to boost your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game plan utilizes different tactics to achieve that. The Back Game strategy is generally utilized when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this tactic, you need to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This plan is more complex than others to use in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are moved is partially the result of the dice roll.
